What a season it has been for our Lady Lions Basketball team!! We couldn’t be excited to share that our girls won the 2022-2023 Region 4A Championship game on Friday night!! Head Coach Joe Daniels was also voted Co-Coach of the Year for Region 4A. Congratulations to Coach Daniels and the entire coaching staff, and our Lady Lions on making Trinity history. We can’t wait to cheer you all on in State this Tuesday night at home at 6pm against Southeast Bulloch.

Coach Daniels shares, “This, by many, would have been considered a rebuilding year. We are a smaller team. We have spent the season without Lalah Logan - a beloved starter - due to injury. We stepped up in classifications from GHSA 1A Private to 4A and were not welcomed warmly in most places. Adversity has been the backdrop of the entire season. Through it all, we emerged as Region Champions last night.”

“This team finished the regular season 20-5, we were 13-1 in Region play, and 3-0 in the Region Tournament! I cannot begin to describe this group of young ladies and the character they have showed this season! Their will, determination, and willingness to fight together is unmatched, and our staff is honored to be their coaches. Congrat’s Lady Lions! You are CHAMPIONS! Now on to the State Tournament!”

Our Trinity Christian Volleyball team made it to the GHSA Class 4A Final Four. We couldn’t be more proud of our Lady Lions who made history as a GHSA volleyball program after winning 4 GISA state titles. Our Lady Lions put up a good fight against Pace Academy last Saturday and will come back even stronger next season. We are excited about the growth of the program at Trinity and can’t wait to see what next year holds for this amazing group of student athletes.

Coach Sara Kuchinski shares “This season was one of growth. From the very beginning back in June, when we were working out on the field and getting as many touches as possible on the court, all the way to just last week competing in the Final Four of the state playoffs, this team grew. They grew together as a unit rather than individuals, they grew as players each getting stronger in every single aspect of the game. I am so very proud of the amount of improvement they made this season. You can look at every player on the roster and you can see from point A to point Z that they improved in their game! We competed against some big teams, and although the outcome may not have been what we wanted, the amount of fight and tenacity that this group showed was awesome to see.”

How did your team overcome adversity?

“How didn't we overcome adversity is the real question! You start off with a brand new coach, add in five freshmen, only four varsity returners, plus we had several injuries throughout the season to key players on the team. That amounts to (if you ask me) an absurd amount of adversity! The lack of experience this team had not only playing together, but also playing at this high a level was difficult to overcome. However, they worked very hard together to communicate, encourage, and push each other in practice to be better. Injuries were abundant for us this year as well. Lily Floyd, our starting setter, went down in late August, and Genna Rinkenberger, a Freshman, stepped up and stepped into her role and filled it beautifully! Then, Lindsey Carter went down with an ankle injury, putting us down a starting all around outside hitter. And then we lost Peyton Hayes to yet another ankle injury right in the middle of our run in State! Kaylyn Tackett, our lone Senior, stepped up and filled Peyton's role as a middle hitter without a single complaint! I'd say this team learned how to lean on each other when things got tough, and how God has a plan for every little thing that happens in our lives. That was one of our biggest focuses this season, what can you control? Only you. Do your best, give it your all, and don't worry about the rest because God has it.”

What are your hopes for the program moving forward?

“My hope for the program moving forward is just that, keep moving forward. There is so much potential in the entire volleyball program at TCS, and I hope to continue to help foster it's growth! We have a competitive group that only graduates one Senior, so I'm telling you now, keep your eyes out for TCS Varsity Volleyball because they could be fighting for a State title next season.”

TRINITY MIKE FITZPATRICK FORD STUDENT “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK” AWARDS

Kaylee Croft - Softball

Kaylee has been having outstanding performances both in the circle and at the plate. So far this season she has had 87 strikeouts and is batting .463. She is dominating both in the circle and at the plate.

SeAnna Johnson - Softball

9/26/22

SeAnna has been a tremendous addition to our outfield this season. She is super fast and is tracking down any ball hit her way. She has also been averaging 1+ hits in every game.

Shawn Braxton - Football

10/3/22

Shawn is a 5’11, 195lb Safety and Running-back. Shawn has a 4.15 GPA and is committeed to playing college football at the prestigious Davidson College. Shawn was an All-State First Team player as a junior and is a captain of this year’s team.

Emerson Reifschneider - Cheer

10/10/22

Emerson serves as a Captain on the Trinity Varsity Cheer squad. This is her third year on Varsity and her 13th year cheering. Emerson is a fierce competitor. She is a remarkable cheerleader. Emerson was chosen this July for All American Cheerleader with UCA. She has the ability to lead a crowd and her team. Emerson fully covers the sport aspect of cheer. She stunts, tumbles, and has award-winning jumps. Stunting and tumbling takes tons of work to perfect all the components and Emerson definitely puts in the work.

Trinity Church and Trinity Christian School hosted their annual Fall Family Fest on Thursday, October 27th, in Lions Stadium for families to gather together to enjoy fun, fellowship, and food. There was plenty of inflatables and carnival games on the field, a Chili Cook-off, Dessert Bake-off, and new this year a Student Dessert Bake-off. We were blessed with a beautiful Fall evening with blue skies and mild temperatures.

With some of our favorite Christian songs playing, kiddos running and playing on the field, families catching up, and upcoming events scrolling on our brand new LionVision board, fun was had by all. TCS families generously donated hundreds of pieces of candy and helped make 1,000 bags of candy to hand out. Trinity Church served up hundreds of hotdogs, chips, and drinks. Both Trinity Church and Trinity Christian School families brought crockpots full of their favorite chili recipes and desserts. Students were even part of the fun this year and participated in a new student Bake-off. Trinity Student Council and BETA Club students assisted with face painting, serving cotton candy and popcorn, and engaged with little ones playing carnival games and inflatables. Trinity Staff and Faculty greeted our families and helped with carnival games and inflatables.

Trinity Middle School Academic Bowl Team places 2nd in Region and Advances to State

This week our Middle School Academic Bowl Team attended a regional GAPPS Academic Competition in LaGrange. TCS Academic Bowl Coaches Mrs. Abby Akins & Mrs. Kiley Huddleston are excited about this new Academic Bowl Team for the 2022-23 school year. The team is comprised of students who excel in various academic subjects and popular topics. Students compete in Jeopardy-style regional competitions. They are chosen for the team based upon their total score on a Google Forms Tryout Test and Teacher recommendation.

We are so excited to share that our Academic Bowl Team came in 2nd place this week and will advance to State next week. Mia Petterson and Caleb Walls also placed individually and advance to State. Our Trinity Middle School Girls Softball team wrapped up their season with a 10-5 record. New to TCS, Softball Mom Kristy Pruitt shared, “The girls bonded so quickly and the coaches were beyond fabulous this season. Not only did they coach the girls, but they also mentored them. They created a Bible Study program on Wednesday after practice. I can’t say enough amazing things about the coaching staff and the group of young ladies. Being new this year and having our daughter make this team as a 6th grader and making these close friends made this transition so much easier.”

”I really enjoyed this season because our coaches helped us grow spirituality and athletically. They shared Bible verses and lessons that helped our attitude on and off the field,” shared 6th grade softball player Reagan Peavy.

Varsity Head Softball Coach Katey Lynch shares “I am so pleased by our Middle School teams performance this season. It is so awesome to be at a school like Trinity where you can build your program starting in Middle School. We are blessed to have 2 phenomenal Middle School coaches that instill the culture of TCS softball into these girls from the moment they step on the field. I am looking forward to watching these girls grow and one day wear a varsity uniform. The future is bright for TCS softball.”

Friday Night Lights may never be the same! If you were blessed enough to attend the football game or tune in online on October 7, 2022, you witnessed the greatest comeback in Trinity football to date.

Seniors #23 Shawn Braxton and #16 Henry Brodnax ready to rumble!

Our Trinity Lions had a rough start and were down 17-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. We went into halftime down 17-7 and with 9 minutes left in the game, we were still trailing 23-7. Coach Dallas proclaimed in the locker room during half time on Friday night against the Whitewater Wildcats, “During the 2nd half, we will accomplish the greatest comeback in Trinity Football history”. Our Lions proved to themselves and to the community that with God’s help and their preparation and brotherhood, they would finish the game strong. This incredible team was led by our brilliant coaches, cheered on by our talented Cheerleading Squad and spirited Lion Nation, and encouraged by our phenomenal Marching Band and Color guard. Our Lions gave it everything they had in the 4th quarter to win the game 27-23. Trinity remains tied for 1st place in the Region 4A.

Trinity Football Mom Yuki Braxton shares “I feel like we hit the top….yet every year it gets even better!! Trinity Football is nothing like we have ever seen before! It brings so much joy, excitement, brotherhood, respect, and love to our community and our boys! Thank you Trinity and Coach Dallas for this special program!”

Our Lions have earned a well-deserved break after winning their last two region games against local high schools Starrs Mill and Whitewater. But relaxing they are not. They are getting ready for the next big game against the LaGrange Grangers at home on Friday, October 21st in our Lion Stadium. A win would guarantee them to play at home in the first round of the playoffs. Let’s fill the stands on Friday night and cheer our team to another victory!!

Trinity Middle School Cross Country playoff results are in from this past weekend at the GAPPS State Meet in Fayetteville on October 8th and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Our Middle School boys team put in an outstanding effort and won State Runner-up! We are so proud of our Lions!! And for the 1st time ever in Trinity history our Middle School Girls Cross Country team won the State title!! Way to go Lady Lions!!

It takes a special kind of student athlete with a very supportive family to compete in Cross Country. It is for those strong, determined, and fierce competitors who don’t mind waking up at 4:30am in the morning to drive across town to run on uneven ground, through puddles and rocks, up and down hills in extreme temperatures. It is both humbling and encouraging at the same time. It is for those detail oriented students who pay close attention to their diet, hydration, sleep, and every minute and second of their practice runs and race times. It makes for blisters, rolled ankles, sore knees, and more. It means pre-race pasta parties and post race chocolate milks. It is for parents who love to chase their kiddos around a race course to cheer them at every opening on as they push themselves to achieve their personal goals for the better of their team. And it takes a very special Coach to student athlete relationship to motivate teenagers to wake up early and run, run, run. Coach Ryan Tipton has served as our Head Coach for Varsity/JV/Middle School Cross Country at Trinity for 9 years. He also serves as our 8th grade Bible Teacher and Director of Middle School Aftercare. Coach Tipton and his wife Cindy have 6 precious children and he is used to chasing kiddos around. “We are so thankful to Coach Tipton for his leadership of this team and the Cross Country program as a whole at TCS,” shared Cross Country parent Rachel Jaroszewski.

Trophy presentation at the GAPPS State Meet 10/8

Cross Country Mom Barkley Franklin shared “Cross Country is one of my favorite sports to watch. While it’s a team sport, it’s also individual. They are running as a team, but they are also running to improve their personal time. This year has been really fun to watch. Not only are the races exciting, but it’s overall just a great group of kids. They work hard and they truly care how their teammates compete. When they aren’t running their race, they are always cheering for their teammates.”

Our Middle School teams traveled to Cochran on Saturday, October 15th to participate in the Georgia Middle School State Championships to test their mettle against all GHSA private schools in Cochran. TCS Assistant Cross Country Coach Dawn Olson shared “I am very proud of them for how hard they’ve worked all Fall. I’m also very impressed at their already very obvious leadership skills and ability to work well together as a team.”

The Trinity Middle School Girls team beat Stratford Academy by 1 point and secured 1st place in the State Championships yesterday. The Trinity Middle School Boys team beat Landmark Christian by 48 points and earned 1st place in the State Championships. Way to represent Trinity Cross Country! We can’t wait to see what God has next in store for this incredible group of student athletes!!

It was another incredible season for our TCS Middle School Girls Volleyball team! If you were blessed to see this amazingly talented group of girls play together, you would understand why they finished with a record of 20 wins and only 2 losses in their Fall 2022 season. From their huddles and cheers to their constant encouragement and support of one another, they represent everything a Trinity team should be.

Head Coach Angela Anderson shares “Over the course of the season, I had officials, opponent’s parents, and other coaches saying things like “I’ve never seen a middle school team play like that,” or comment on how well we played. Those comments from people we didn’t know really meant a lot to me because it means our girls are learning to be humble when they win and that’s my main goal as a coach is to not only teach skills but also speak God’s values into them.”

Last year’s Middle School Volleyball team was 18-1 and they won the State tournament.  “Being a part of that team for the returning players this year gave them an edge and a desire to repeat that success (Reese, Kylie, Lexie, Lanie, Zoe, Caitlynn)” Coach Anderson went on to share, “In my eyes, we accomplished that.  I am very proud of these girls. It was really fun to be able to give our practice players (Addie and Noah) the opportunity to play in a couple matches as well.”  

Coach Anderson also shared that her favorite wins from this season happened during the Woodward tournament. “We played competition that really challenged and tested us.  We had to pull together to beat some really tough teams and there wasn't a player that didn't surprise herself with what she was capable of doing individually and together as a collective effort.”

The team’s only losses were to PACE in the Woodward tournament Championship game (ironically, they beat them earlier in the day) and the second loss came in the Championship game of the AAA state tournament.

Eighth grade players Lexie Starcher who plays Setter shares “I am so thankful for this amazing group of girls. We have worked hard and it paid off. The players on this team made it the best season yet! And of course I love that I get to be on the team with my sister,” and Zoe Joyner who plays Right Front and Setter shares, “I enjoyed playing the season with new girls and making new friends. I couldn’t have asked for a better season.” Zoe has even inspired her little sister Finley, who is her biggest fan, to try the sport.

Erin Price, Trinity Middle School Volleyball mom, shares “We are not a team because we work together, we are a team because we respect, trust, and care for each other. This middle school team worked hard, learned a lot about the game but learned much more about life! They learned the value of a team is much more than just winning. They learned about respect, trust, and caring for each other. They represented TCS so well!”

If your daughter is interested in learning more about the sport, Coach Anderson encourages everyone to sign up for the TCS Volleyball Summer Camp or volleyball camps at County Recreation Programs and other local clubs.

Trinity Alumni Angela Moryan Lands Her Dream Job

TRINITY ALUMNI ANGELA MORYAN LANDS HER DREAM JOB

Trinity Christian Alumni Angela Moryan joined us in 2005 in the 5th grade. She fondly remembers her time in 8th grade meeting in trailers while the middle school was still being constructed. Then she recalls moving over to the Crossroads Church campus on 154 for her high school years before our new high school building was built on the main campus.

During her time at Trinity, Angela loved being involved in all that she could at school. She didn’t hesitate to jump right in and got involved in every opportunity that she could. Angela was involved in Choir, Performing Arts, and Volleyball. She also served as Beta President, National Honor Society officer, on Student Council, and as Yearbook Editor. She starred in “Annie”, our first Trinity Musical, as well as Sound of Music, Bye Bye Birdie, Charlie Brown, and My Fair Lady. She also had a lead role in the Music Man as the mayor’s wife. Angela also served as our Valedictorian for the Class of 2013 in the 5th graduating class at Trinity.

The close, meaningful relationships she had with her teachers and two in particular, Mrs. Zaubi and Mrs. Simonton, sparked her interest in travel and also to pursue a career in journalism and photography. Angela shared that these mentors and the many friends she made at TCS were a gift as she is an only child. The connections and friendships she made were so vital to her success inside and outside of the classroom. Her Mom, Mrs. Daryl Moryan, has been on staff at Trinity serving in our lunch room for many years and has also shared how the loving family atmosphere positively impacts our students. Angela especially felt God’s presence at school Chapels and Retreats and loved growing in her Faith with other believers. The high standards set at Trinity, Angela said, helped prepare her for college and made the transition a smooth one. She graduated from Georgia College with a BA in Mass Communications and minor in Photography.

Angela got to cover Georgia winning the National Championship

After college, Angela worked behind the scenes for a TV channel in Myrtle Beach and then spent 6 years in Chattanooga Tennessee covering news, sports, and more. She has covered big events like National Championships, Super Bowl, Braves, Titans, Nascar, Indy Car Races, and more. When Covid hit, Angie started her own photography business.

Her goal was to work for a news station in a city that had an NFL team. God closed many doors but opened the one she was waiting on. In July of this year, she landed a dream job as a Sports Anchor for WISH TV in Indianapolis. This past Sunday, September 25th Angela covered her first Colts game. She was so excited to share that she will get to travel for the New Years Day game against the Giants.

We are beyond proud of you Angela for your hard work and determination. We can’t wait to see how God is going to use you and the platform He has given you.

Trinity Christian School continued celebrating “HOCO Week 2022” on Friday, September 16th, 2022, under the lights and there was no shortage of excitement. Senior Representatives Ethan McDowell and Grace Mudge were selected to represent the class of 2023 as Homecoming King and Queen.

Grace Mudge shares that “being crowned Queen gives me the opportunity to be an example for young girls to follow. It is an honor to represent such an amazing class and school”. Grace said that Mrs. Lizzie Perez had made a tremendous impact on her while at TCS. “When I started my junior year of high school I became interested in the theater department. Lizzie has always believed in me, and pushed me to try things outside of my comfort zone. She is such a supportive influence in my life. Lizzie has given me so many opportunities to be involved in theater and do the things that I love doing. But most importantly she has shown me the value in pushing past your own limits.” Grace shares that after she graduates from TCS, she will major in nursing with plans on becoming a nurse practitioner. Grace added that being crowned Queen means so much because her sister was Homecoming Queen in 2019.

Mrs. Regina Mudge, Grace’s Mom, shared “watching our children thrive in a safe and loving environment has been the greatest gift TCS has given us. Having such close connections with staff, students, and other families creates a sense of belonging, and opportunities to celebrate one another’s accomplishments just as a family would.”

Ethan McDowell shared that “being crowned as King means that I represent the school in a good way and know how to be a Trinity Lion.” Ethan also shared “all of my football coaches, as well as teachers Shack and KC have impacted my life at TCS. All these guys have taught countless, invaluable life lessons that I'll teach my kids when it comes to God, work, and social life.” Ethan plans to play football at Miami University in Ohio and Major in either Psychology or Criminology.

Ms. Rosetta McDowell, Ethan’s Mom, shares ”For us, being a part of Trinity Christian School over the past 6 years has been transforming for our family. Specifically for Ethan, I believe the friendships and relationships he has formed here have divinely affected his life's trajectory and he is equipped to walk in God's purpose.”

The representatives on Homecoming Court are selected by the High School student body as leaders among their peers. They are a wonderful group of students who are all very involved in both in school and extra curricular activities and represent our school well.

9th Grade Representative

Elly Dallas

Elly was our 9th grade representative who has been at Trinity since 4th grade. She is involved in Varsity Volleyball, Worship Team, Track and Field, and Fine Arts. She also serves as a student athletic trainer. Elly shared that she loves the incredible atmosphere and supportive community at TCS the most.

10th Grade Representatives

Anna Flury

Sisters Anna and Grace Flury represented 10th grade. They have both been at Trinity since 8th grade. Anna is involved in basketball and small groups at her church.

Grace Flury

Grace is involved in competition cheer at the Rock. They both shared that they love the friendships and relationships with staff that they have made.

11th Grade Representatives

Natalie Hall

Natalie Hall has been at Trinity since 6th grade. She is involved in Student Council, BETA Club, and Varsity Cheer.

Natalie shared that she is so thankful for the teachers and classmates who have become lifelong friends and is so grateful to be a part of the Trinity family.

Aliyah Shaffer

Aliyah Shaffer has been at Trinity for 4 years. Aliyah is involved in Varsity basketball and played Volleyball for TCS in 8th grade.

Aliyah shares how welcoming and loving Trinity has been to her.

Molly New

Molly New is in her 2nd year as a Lion. Molly is involved in both school and club soccer.

Molly shares that she loves how much the teachers care about her and make sure you are taken care of.

12th Grade Representatives

Addison Bell

Addison has been at Trinity since 6th grade. She is involved at school in Student Council, BETA Club, National Honors Society, the Speech and Debate Team, and the Thespian Society. She is also an active volunteer at the Angel Tree Prison Ministry and with her church Sunday school youth department.

Addison feels blessed to share this experience with the court representatives who are great roles models and examples if what it means to lead others to the love of Christ.

Hannah Gibbs

Hannah has been at Trinity since 1st grade. She is very involved in the Performing Arts Department.

Hannah is so thankful to represent the seniors on Homecoming Court for the class of 2023.

Faith Macaluso

Faith started at Trinity in Kindergarten. She is involved int he Thespian Society and Drama program as well as BETA Club and Lacrosse. Faith shares that she loves the Senior class of 2023 and the relationships she has formed with them over the year.

Faith is truly grateful for all the opportunities that Trinity has given her over the years.

Tessa Mitchell

Tessa has been at Trinity for 12 years. She is involved in and serves in leadership roles on Student Council, National Honor Society, BETA Club, TCS Thespians, Archery, and serves as the Performing Arts Theater Coordinator and AV Tech.

Tessa loves that you can be very involved in school activities and start true to who you are while doing it.

Grace Mudge

Grace has been at Trinity since 4th grade. She is involved in Performing Arts, lacrosse, cheerleading, Beta Club, and National Honor Society.

Grace is thankful for the opportunity to represent her class on Homecoming court.

Sophia Wooten

Sophia has been at Trinity since 6th grade. She serves as Student Council president and in involved in Beta Club, Varsity Cheerleading, Performing Arts, Thespian Society, and Trinity Choir. She also serves as a Middle School Theatre Ambassador, in Chick fil-A Leadership Academy, in Stage Management for the Lion Cub Performing Arts, and on the Trinity Church Worship team.

Sophia shares that TCS provides endless opportunities for students to get involved in and is grateful for that.

Nick Andrews

Nick has been a Lion since 5th grade. He is involved in Track and Field, Cross Country, Archery, Performing Arts, Speech and Debate, AV Tech, Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club, National Honor Society, Student Council, and Chick fil-A Leadership Academy.

Nick is grateful for the endless opportunities TCS has provided for him and all students. He shares that TCS has provided guidance, strength, and Faith necessary to lead meaningful lives.

Shawn Braxton

Shawn has been at Trinity since 9th grade. He is a team captain for our Varsity Football team, plays Varsity Basketball, and serves on Beta Club and National Honor Society.

Shawn is grateful for the opportunity to represent his grade on Homecoming court and is thankful for everyone who has helped him throughout his high school career.

Dylan DePriest

Dylan started at Trinity in 1st grade. He currently serves as Beta Club president, team captain for the Varsity Soccer team, and Communications officer for the Coweta Community Foundation. He also serves on Student Council, TCS Annual Ambassador, Chick fil-A Leadership Academy, Cross Country, Basketball, and Performing Arts at Trinity.

Dylan is humbled and honored with the opportunity to represent the Senior class on Homecoming court along side his good friends.

Eli Leedy

Eli joined Trinity in February of 2020. He is leader with TCS National Honor Society and also on the Varsity Soccer team.

Eli is grateful to serve on the Homecoming court and well respected among his peers.

Ethan McDowell

Ethan has been at Trinity since 6th grade. He is a team captain of the Varsity Football team, Annual Powderpuff coach, and Track and Field.

Ethan is thankful for the chance to represent the school on Homecoming Court.

Josh Taylor

Josh has been at TCS since 6th grade. He is involved in Football, Soccer, Performing Arts, National Honor Society, Beta Club, Chick fil-A Leadership Academy, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Tri-City Youth Movement at Trinity Church, TCS Annual Fund Ambassador, Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society, and on the TCS Worship Team.

Josh is thankful for his family, teachers, coaches, pastors, teammates, and classmates who have poured into him over the years.

CELEBRATING OUR TRINITY STAFF ALUMNI! LION FOR LIFE

Our mission is to prepare today’s student to impact tomorrow's world by educating minds for cultural engagement, equipping hearts for character development, and empowering hands for compassionate service. God called these four students back home to teach the next generation at Trinity, and we love to share what He is doing in the lives of these TCS Staff Alumni.

Emily Litton started at Trinity in the 6th grade when her family moved from Tennessee. Her Mom was hired as a 1st Grade Aide. Emily shares that from the moment then principal Mrs. Frances Ashe brought her family in for the family interview, it felt like home. At that time, the middle school was still very small and they were the only 6th grade class with a combo 7/8 grade class next door. Emily was privileged to play percussion in our first band as well as violin and cello in the orchestra. She also played on the volleyball team for a bit until TCS announced auditions for Annie, the first musical, during her sophomore year. Emily shared that her teachers reach extended well beyond the classroom. She was sure to mention how God used Mr. Scott Ahonen, Mrs. Amy Simonton, and Mrs. Anne Fuchs just to name a few of many teachers who mentored and impacted her life.

Emily’s senior class of 2009 was the first high school graduating class at Trinity. On the metaphorical “bow of the ship” she shared that it was a blessing but also challenging to experience some of those first growing pains. She shares that this “trail blazing” mentality is something that has truly helped her - the grit to forge uncharted paths and even to divert to new ones at times. When asked what brought her back home to serve at Trinity - she emphatically said - JESUS! When Emily and her husband took a leap of faith moving to GA from MN in 2014- there were lots of unanswered questions including what path their careers would take. In 2016, Sherry Randolph graciously hired her as a K4 aide, which turned into teaching Early Learning Music class, to creating and teaching an Early Learning Drama special too, and then eventually adding Middle School drama and musical direction as well as the direction of Elementary Drama Club to my creative palette- what a DREAM! “Many are the plans in the mind of a man but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” Proverbs 19:21

Mel Landers started at Trinity in Kindergarten after moving to Georgia with her Mom and older sister from Illinois. During her 13 years at Trinity, she was very involved in extracurricular activities including volleyball, tennis, and Thespians Society. She starred in Beauty and the Beast, Seussical, and Cinderella before becoming a Stage Manager with the Performing Arts Dept. Mel also served as Cheer Manager in HS and was active in BETA Club. During her Senior year at TCS, she worked in the school store serving our school community.

Mel shared that Kimmy Jones, Kelsi Adams, and Mr. Geasly all poured into her and that God used each of them to help shape and direct her path. She fondly remembers the loving support that she received from all of her teachers. Mel said that she always felt as if she had people in her corner cheering her on at school.

God opened a door for her to come back to Trinity and serve as a Teachers Aide in 1st grade this school year and she couldn’t be more excited about it. Mel shared that she couldn’t wait for the opportunity to pour back in to our little lions and be a part of the Trinity culture. “Choose Joy - Give Grace” is her motto and you can learn more about her walk with God by tuning in to her podcast - Choose Joy - Give Grace podcast

Josh Henry started at Trinity when he was just a Preschool and Kinder kiddo, left for public school for a bit, and returned in high school and graduated in 2016. Josh was involved in both Varsity Football and Baseball and also with BETA club. He shares that Coach Chris Hanson, Coach JP Weaver, Mrs. Val Adams, and Mrs. Whittle were all very invested in his future and cared deeply about him.

After Trinity, Josh went to Kennesaw University and lived with 2 other TCS Alumni. He received his Bachelor of Science with a Minor in Coaching and is now getting his Masters in Sports Management online at the University of Florida. Josh interned with Coach Chris Hanson, when he was our Athletics Director, and also helped Varsity Head Football Coach Kenny Dallas. He has served our school the last 4 years as a Running Back Coach for the Varsity football team and is now in his 2nd year as the Middle School Sports Director and Upper Elementary Recess teacher.

Josh is humbled by the opportunities God has blessed him with and shares the scripture he lives by is Matthew 23:12 “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted”. Josh shared that how grateful he is for the opportunity to be back at Trinity leading the next generations and encourages our students to “Trust in the Lord for your steps and find comfort in knowing that He goes before you in all you do.”

Ruth Wolleat started at Trinity in Kindergarten back in 2001. Ruth was actively involved in BETA Club, NHS, Campus Awakening, and participated in the GISA Fine Arts Festivals during High School. She was also on Homecoming Court during her Senior Year. Ruth shares that the teachers were her favorite part of her time as a Trinity student. She said so many wonderful people poured into her life and made her feel loved. They were a part of why she wanted to continue her education at a Christian college, for the family atmosphere. Ruth shared that Mrs. Adams was large part of why she is in fact an English teacher today. Mrs. Adam’s love of literature and sweet words of encouragement over the years made her feel so comfortable in her writing ability. She said so many of our teachers shared the love of the Lord through their actions and words of affirmation.

While in high school, Ruth took many AP and honors-level classes which allowed her to enter college almost as a sophomore. She was also able to tutor with the Skills Development Program at Trinity. She smiles when sharing that “God laid out all the steps of my path before I even knew to walk on them.” During the pandemic, she was looking for teaching jobs in the area and found a position open at Trinity. She took a step of obedience and God’s calling and timing let her back to a place she called home for so long.

Ruth teaches 10th grade Honors English and Dual Enrollment English with Point University and has been on staff at Trinity for 3 years and has taught for 16 years over all. Little known fact, she met her husband in Kindergarten while at Trinity Christian School.

We love having these fabulous four back on campus pouring into our students and can’t wait to see how God uses them to positively impact the next generation of Trinity Lions!

Trinity Runner Christian McMurry was born to run.

TRINITY RUNNER CHRISTIAN MCMURRY WAS BORN TO RUN.

Trinity Cross Country runner Christian McMurry is an inspiring combination of humility and determination. We are blessed to have a front row seat to the incredible story that God is writing in his life. He is a Freshman at Trinity and the oldest born son in a family of 7. When he was in middle school, Christian’s Dad Kevin encouraged him to join him in running the “Race for Orphans” 5k’s. Christian tried it and found that he enjoyed running and did quite well at it. He is a 3rd generation runner as his Dad and his Dad’s Dad both enjoy running as well. Christian joined the TCS Cross Country team in Middle School and worked his way up to 10th in the State and was a crucial part of his team winning 1st in State. He then went on to compete in TCS Track & Field in the Spring.

In 2019, Christian’s family felt the calling to sell everything they owned and move to Nepal with Justice Ventures International to share the love of Jesus . They landed in Nepal in January of 2020 and settled in nicely to their home away from home. They made friends in their village, attended school, and started getting acclimated to living in this new place. The view of the beautiful Himalayan Mountains and Mount Everest was all around them, though the village they lived in desperate need of Jesus.

A couple of months after his family moved, Covid struck and the whole world changed. The school he and his siblings attended went to virtual learning and Christian was looking for an outlet so he would run. Some mornings he would wake up and run 5 miles, come home to do school work, and then later in the day go out and run some more. Nepal sits about 6,000 feet above sea level and each day his running experience would include high elevation, lots of hills, dodging motorbikes, dilapidated buildings, stinky sewage, and street dogs. He asked his parents for a Garmin watch so he could track his running. His parents gave him the incentive that if he stuck with this new found love of running and ran 300 miles, they would buy him the running watch. It took him just a few months to reach his goal and he hasn’t stopped running since.

During his time in Nepal, Christian, his Dad, and his twin sisters spent 10 days hiking up to Everest Base Camp 18,000 feet above sea level. Along the way, they stayed in tea houses that were basic common rooms to eat with small sleeping quarters off of it. They saw yak’s carrying supplies up to the mountain and many hiking groups, though none of the groups had kids as young as he and his friend were. It was the ultimate test of endurance for this 13 year old but his lungs and legs were conditioned from all of his running.

After the adventurous 10 day hike up to Base camp, they took a helicopter back down to Lukla airport and then returned back to their colony with memories for a lifetime. Lukla Airport happens to be known as the worlds most dangerous airport because of the teeny tiny airplane, a really short runway, and a 9,000 foot drop off at the end of the run way. It’s worth looking up and watching a video about to understand how brave Christian and his sisters really were.

Since returning to the US, Christian has continued his training and is one to watch. Over the summer he completed the Peachtree Road Race and placed in the top 1000 runners. This is also an accomplishment that his Granddad achieved back in 2000. Though Christian isn’t the type to brag about himself, we sure can. His sights are set on running at Baylor University one day and we believe God will use his determination and hard work to open doors for him in the years ahead.

TCS Cross Country Coach Ryan Tipton shares that “Christian is an encourager that practices affirmation of his teammates as much as he practices endurance during our long runs.  Christian helps build our team culture in the small things, being a faithful teammate when no one is looking.  In my opinion, Christian is as good at shunning the limelight as he is in persevering through our early morning speed workouts, which are quite difficult.  Christian will be uncomfortable with such praise, which only makes me appreciate him all the more! Trinity Siblings help give teens a "Fresh Start"

TRINITY SIBLINGS HELP GIVE TEENS A "FRESH START"

Dr. Anthony refers often to the golden triangle of parents, churches, and schools working together to shape Christlike disciples. Partnering with our Trinity families in this way helps to strengthen the foundation for our children’s growth and development.

Last Christmas Trinity students Caroline and Nolan McPherson were talking about how exciting it was to get the “good stuff” in their stockings, not just the regular razors but the big nice ones, the really good AXE deodorants and shaving creams, and the fun body Bath & Body Works sprays and gels. Caroline said it makes getting up so much more exciting! It was shortly after that when this dynamic brother and sister team learned that teenagers in middle school and high school are the most under-served group. Frequently folks hear about the needs of teens but don’t know what to get them and for this reason they seem not to get as much attention as little kids.

Caroline and Nolan were inspired to be the change and to help make kids in this age group feel special and get a fresh start. They chose the name “Fresh Start” as a reminder that every morning it’s a fresh start no matter what the day before may have brought. They put together special bags for teen girls and boys full of high dollar items and bring them to I-58 (Isaiah) Mission in Senioa led by Karma Novak. Caroline and Nolan’s Mom, Nancy, shares that “I-58 is a little effort by a lot of people making a big difference.”

Last year they made 60 bags and this year 31 girls and 20 boys were blessed by their efforts. Two times a year they bless teens with “Fresh Start” bags at Back to School and Christmas time. Caroline and Nolan work together and take their roles very seriously. They collect coupons and generous donations to support their efforts. They search to find the best deals to maximize their money donated. They also have a box on their front porch where folks can drop off items or coupons. Nolan likes to figure out the best brands and scents to get and Caroline likes to make each bag look fun and exciting for each kiddo. They collect year round and keep a stock pile on hand at their house.

Nancy McPherson shared that every time they do a drop off of “Fresh Start” bags, her children receive notes telling them how grateful and excited they are to receive treat bags with such high dollar items. As word spreads, many non-profits in the area have reached out to them about bringing their bags to their locations for teens in need. These two kiddos are making quite an impact in our community and we couldn’t wait to share how God is using them. We are proud of you both and look forward to seeing what more He has in store for your ministry this coming Christmas.

Trinity Marching Lions are on the move!

TRINITY MARCHING LIONS ARE ON THE MOVE!

It has always been a vision for Tim Hurt, our Performing Arts Director, to have a musical component to Friday Night Lights here at Trinity. Head of School Dr. Mark Anthony shares, “TCS is committed to nurturing an environment where the arts can thrive. It is my prayer that our students will fully engage with our Performing Arts program.”

In January of 2019, the TCS Drum Corps was formed and composed of 10 Middle School students. Then in August of 2019, this group grew to 16 students and played for the Varsity Football home games. In 2020, we had our first Summer Band Camp and also created Middle School Drum Corps. The following year the Pep Band and Color Guard was added and they started traveling to all away Varsity football games as well.

A Rhythm section has been added this year and the team has more than tripled in size and includes our very first field show and marching formations complete with electric guitars. The half time performance appropriately named “Solid Rock” because Jesus is our foundation featured for the first time on Friday, August 19th at our 1st game of the season in Lions Stadium. Way to grow Lions!!

Stay tuned for more greatness from our Friday Night Lights performers as “TCS Band Night” will be on Friday, September 16th at our Homecoming football game against Riverdale where our parents, alumni, and student Pep Band will all perform together. We love to see how these musically gifted students share their God given talents with our school community!

Trinity Batting Cage Ribbon Cutting

On Thursday August 18th our Head of School Dr. Anthony led our Batting Cage Dedication and Prayer before the Varsity softball game where our Lady Lions beat the defending 4A State Champions Starr’s Mill team. Construction began on this great addition to our Athletics department back in the Fall of 2021 and was completed in early 2022. This great space was a result of a team effort by Chuck Beard with Green Owl Energy Solutions, Murf Staffins with Mid South Steel and Ralph & Summer Costley with SRC Ventures. We truly are grateful for all of their help in the construction of this cage. A very special thank you to Ansley Houston with Ungrounded Ideas for his generous donation towards this project that benefits all of our Middle School and High School Baseball and Softball teams. This is just another great example of our Lions Booster Club working hard to support all of our student athletes at TCS. It’s a great time to be a Lion!!

Our Lady Lions are off to a strong start of the season with 2 wins and looking forward to the next 4 games. Varsity Head Coach Katey Lynch shared “Super excited to watch our athletes compete this week. Our first Region game on Thursday opens up with Starrs Mill who are the defending 4A State Champions. Then we head to play East Coweta on Friday. We finish out our week with Dodge County and Lee County on Saturday at East Coweta. We are a very young team but I firmly believe to be the best, we have to play the best. We have prepared and I am super excited to see us compete against great competition this week!”

These Lady Lions would like to invite you and your families to come out and attend the Batting Cage Dedication at 5pm and their game against Starr’s Mill at 5:30pm this Thursday, August 18th at TCS. Let’s Go Lady Lions!!!
